We've taken the ground-breaking GT15C Octane engine, a 2.7hp, 15cc 2-stroke gasoline engine, and strapped it into the award-winning Savage XL long-wheelbase chassis for a one-of-a-kind RC experience! The Savage XL Octane has fistfuls of aggression, a gigantic size, lower fuel costs and extra-long runtimes - what more could you want?
The grunt from the Octane engine lets you throw up dirt roosts and blast through sand, leaves, mud and water with ease! The Savage XL Octane's 3 speed transmission gives you quick acceleration from a standing start with super-efficient shifts for an experience you'll never forget! The 4-shoe Quadra clutch gets the power from the engine to the drivetrain in no time flat, and the all-metal, ball bearing-supported 4WD shaft drivetrain is super-durable to handle whatever you come across. The XtraLarge wide track and XtraLarge wheelbase of the Savage XL chassis work with the XtraLarge Terra Pin tires to make the Savage XL Octane easy to drive and maneuver over and through jumps and obstacles...or whatever is in your way!
The Savage XL Octane is completely pre-built, just like all RTR (Ready To Run) vehicles from HPI Racing. The engine is a pull-start design, and easily starts with a single tug. Rechargeable HPI Plazma battery packs and AA batteries are included to power the hassle-free 2.4GHz radio system and engine control system - all you need to provide is pump gasoline and you are ready to rock!
The GT15C Octane engine is a giant two-stroke gasoline-powered beast that's bigger than any available nitro truck engine! At nearly 3 times bigger than the engine in the Savage XL 5.9, it's LOUD, BRASH and POWERFUL! The Octane engine is fitted with a tough pullstarter system that gets the engine going with a single easy pull, and uses an electronic management system keeps everything ticking over perfectly. For optimum performance, an aluminum tuned pipe and header are fitted so you get as much power as possible out of the Octane.
The Octane engine is fed by a huge 300cc forward-mounted fuel tank that lets you drive for over 20 minutes per tank. The GT15C is protected by a 2-stage air filter, and a crankshaft-mounted turbo fan and massive aluminum heatsink fins keep it running cool. Finally, the engine is fully enclosed in a resilient roll cage that doubles as a handy carry handle!
The Savage XL Octane is fitted with an extra-strong four-shoe Quadra Clutch for extra durability and toughness, giving you the confidence to know that the truck can handle anything you want to throw at it. The Quadra Clutch allows you to get powerful starts and acceleration at all RPM ranges, working in concert with the 3-speed transmission for maximum speed and enjoyment! A huge turbo-style fan spins on the crankshaft behind the clutch to effectively cool the engine for steady RPM and consistent tuning.
With the Octane's 3 speed transmission, your Savage XL Octane will attack the dirt with a pull of the trigger and the action keeps coming as you move up through the gears! The first gear is perfect for pulling away from standing starts on any surface, and you''ll clearly hear when 2nd and 3rd gear kick in. You can even visibly see the truck accelerate even further at top speed! Make sure you have plenty of open area to play in - this monster truck is not for the faint hearted!

The GT15C engine is the heart of the Savage XL Octane, and with its easy pullstarter and huge fuel tank, you can get started fast and drive for over 20 minutes of fun! Simply fill the tank with 25:1 premix (pump gasoline and 2-stroke oil), switch everything on, prime the carb and give the starter a tug for instant fun! Electronic engine management makes sure everything runs smoothly and there's even an electronic switch for an easy and safe way to stop the engine.
The Savage XL Octane is fitted with a triple-disc brake system that brings the Octane to a safe, controlled halt at a touch of your finger. Three vented red fiber discs resist heat build-up to eliminate brake fade at all speeds, with large holes in the discs shedding excess heat effectively for secure stops no matter what speeds you hit.
Aggressive and loud, the huge aluminum tuned pipe fitted to the Octane 15cc engine is the perfect accompaniment to the Savage XL Octane! A beautifully turned aluminum manifold and header lead from the engine to the large tuned performance pipe. The pipe is shaped to provide you with the perfect blend of speed, torque and awesome sound for your driving!

Dynamite® Speedpack™ Green series 1/8-scale Li-Fe receiver pack (DYN1413) provides nitro enthusiasts with a safe and affordable power solution for 1/8-scale nitro buggies and truggies. The pack pumps out 6.6V and will work with HV servo’s and requires no regulator. Not only is it safer than Li-Po packs, it is also lighter providing improved performance in addition to the safety aspect. It comes pre-wired with a universal receiver connector and JST-XH balance connector which will work with all Dynamite Li-Fe compatible chargers.
